❄️ WEATHER & ROAD CONDITIONS While the snow from last week has largely melted, residual ice may still be present in shaded areas and on secondary roads. Please exercise caution during your morning commute. No major road closures or new road work have been reported as of this morning.

🏛️ LOCAL GOVERNMENT & COUNCIL NEWS The Byram Township Council is scheduled to hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 4th, at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building. Agendas are usually posted on the township website a few days in advance. Key topics often include budget discussions, local ordinances, and community projects. All residents are encouraged to attend or review the minutes online.

🏫 BOARD OF EDUCATION UPDATE The Byram Township Board of Education's next regular public meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 10th, at 7:00 PM in the Byram Lakes Elementary School Media Center. Upcoming discussions are expected to focus on curriculum development and facility updates.

🗑️ TRASH & RECYCLING REMINDERS

  • Trash Collection: Your regular Monday trash collection is proceeding as scheduled today. Please ensure your bins are at the curb by 6:00 AM.

  • Recycling: This week is commingled recycling (plastic, glass, and cans) for Zone B. Zone A will have fiber (paper and cardboard) recycling. Check the township's recycling schedule on their website if you're unsure of your zone or pickup type.

🏅 BYRAM SPORTS SPOTLIGHT

  • Lenape Valley Regional High School: Both the Boys' and Girls' Basketball teams have a busy week ahead. The Boys' team plays away on Tuesday and home on Friday. The Girls' team hosts a game on Wednesday and travels for an away game on Saturday. Check the LVRHS athletics calendar for specific times and opponents.

  • Middle School Sports: Byram Lakes Middle School basketball teams are nearing the end of their regular season with a few key matchups this week. Stay tuned for potential playoff information!

  • Youth Leagues: Registration for Spring Little League and Soccer programs is ongoing. Don't miss the deadlines to sign up your young athletes!

🌳 PARKS & RECREATION: C.O. JOHNSON PARK With the recent cold snap, C.O. Johnson Park remains a beautiful spot for winter walks, though icy patches may persist on trails. The sledding hill may have some remaining snow from last week, but use caution as conditions can vary. Remember to keep dogs on leashes and clean up after them to keep our park pristine. Planning for spring events at the park is underway, so look out for announcements on upcoming activities!
