🌤️ WEATHER & ROADS The forecast for this week looks promising, with temperatures reaching the 50s. Most snow has melted, but please use caution on secondary roads early in the morning, as shaded areas may still have icy patches. No major road closures have been reported. Minor utility work may continue on Route 206 near the intersection with Brookwood Road.
🏛️ LOCAL GOVERNMENT & COUNCIL NEWS
Upcoming Meeting: The Byram Township Council will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, March 17th, at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building. Discussions are expected to continue regarding the 2026-2027 municipal budget and preliminary plans for the potential new municipal complex. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input.
🏫 BOARD OF EDUCATION UPDATE
Tonight's Meeting: The next regular public meeting of the Byram Township Board of Education will take place TONIGHT, Monday, March 9th, at 7:00 PM in the Byram Lakes Elementary School Media Center. The primary focus will be the initial presentation of the 2026-2027 school district budget. Your participation and feedback are vital to this process!
🗑️ TRASH & RECYCLING REMINDERS
Trash Collection: Your regular Monday trash collection is proceeding as scheduled today. Please ensure all bins are at the curb by 6:00 AM.
Recycling: This week (the week of March 9) is Commingled Recycling (plastics, glass, cans) for Zone B. Zone A will have fiber (paper and cardboard) recycling. Check the full schedule and zone maps on the Township’s recycling page.
🏅 BYRAM SPORTS SPOTLIGHT
Lenape Valley Patriots: The winter sports season has concluded, and our athletes are gearing up for the spring! Tryouts for baseball, softball, lacrosse, and track and field begin soon. Go Patriots!
Middle School Sports: Byram Lakes Middle School is excited to begin its spring volleyball and track and field programs. Registration is ongoing; students should contact the athletics department for details.
Youth Leagues: Final call for spring sports registrations! Deadlines are approaching for local Little League, softball, and youth soccer. Visit the respective league websites to ensure your child doesn't miss out on the action.
🌳 PARKS & RECREATION: C.O. JOHNSON PARK C.O. Johnson Park is shaking off the winter chill! The trails are in great shape for a brisk walk. Planning is underway for the annual spring egg hunt and various recreational programs. Look for the spring/summer recreation brochure to be released later this month. Note that the tennis and pickleball courts will reopen as soon as weather permits regular maintenance.
